in this trip, i was mistaken to be from thailand, japan and china. I think the only one that got it right was the lady from Gucci in Las Vegas. I did take the mistaken identity from China quite badly, rolling my eyes and practically asking do I look like I am from China? He did went on to explain he was impressed at the standard of our chinese. my god, that was appalling. and the ability to speak some spanish seemed to raise quite a bit of alarm among the mexicans. They were so surprised that a chinese was able to speak spanish, and after knowing it became very interested in conversating.
i think for next year i just want to go climb mount kinabalu.

i got on.
the flight time was 18hrs 15 mins. the longest time i was ever on a flight non-stop. routing was new york through canada, across the atlantic to manchester, then through to warsaw, tehran, pakistan, india, phuket and finally in singapore. it did not help that i was given the middle seat, but oh well I am not in a position to complain. the flight was really smooth, with barely any turbulence as opposed to my inbound tokyo flight, which was similar to a rollercoaster.
i heard barely any noise from the engines as I invested in a pair of bang & olufsen headphones today. it was phenomenal.

samuel has left for JFK for his flight back to san francisco. I still have about 3 hours to kill before my shuttle to newark. The balance of tonight’s flight is 0. I am hoping for no-shows, this is the plight I have got myself into for deciding to choose comfort over certainty. Hope for me! If its successful in 8 hours time I will be flying on board the world’s longest flight, non-stop from New York to Singapore.
Happy New Year!

i think samuel and myself this past 15 days has ensured that the united states of america’s 4th quarter GDP profits have grown by more than 10%. the both of us has helped USA get out of the threats of recession. burberry and gucci have made stunning 4th quarter profits that they have decided to set up shop in tibet’s lhasa in recognition of christian huang and samuel koh respectively.
though i don’t know if this is a good thing.
merry christmas and happy new year.

i was bumped yesterday morning on SQ16 to San Francisco, but was put on SQ12 to LAX via Tokyo. That actually meant the entire alteration of my plans on staying at San Francisco for a night. Instead, I am now stuck at Anaheim, where Disneyland is.
Today’s flight was a mix of good and bad. Getting my boarding pass only at 9.20 meant I have to rush. A significant number of flight crew today were Japanese. As you might know, I am not an entirely big fan of anything Japanese. However, the crews today on both sectors were flawless. There was this Japanese Chief Stewardess who kept asking me if I wanted Ginger Ale. And this other one on Tokyo to LAX who was jumping and running around in the cabin.
I also managed to try SQ’s Japanese selection out of Tokyo. I swear that was the best ever airline food I have eaten before. The fish and soba noodles were just unbelievable. SQ12 from Tokyo to LAX was also the worst today in terms of comfort. I was thrown all the way behind, and there was severe turbulence today consistently throughout the flight. My neighbor’s coffee flew, my orange juice spilled. The Jumbo swayed from side to side and even some crew fell over while serving.
I was quite relieved when we landed in LAX. The landing in Tokyo was so hard he actually slammed the bladdy bird down on the runway and it bounced. He went in too quick. Took a shuttle from LAX to Anaheim for the evening at this Holiday Inn which is quite big. Will be going tomorrow morning for a flight to SFO and then to LAS. Mind me, I am tired, hungry, dirty and everything. I am also very incoherent with my sentences. However, I am trying my darndest best not to sleep until tonight so that I can follow their clock. I just had some salty clam chowder in a sourdough bread for lunch, hope it can last me till tomorrow morning.
